MAIL & TELEMARKETING FRAUD - #4

If you do not want to get directly involved with another person because this requires somewhat of an emotional attachment then give to a local volunteer agency in your area.

The humane society, your local search and rescue units, local fire departments, hospitals, schools, any agency that helps people, locally. Keep your money in your local area.

Not only does it help people in your immediate area but you benefit from it with a better community, a better neighborhood.

You can not possibly help everybody in the world. Help those in the immediate area of your influence and then you can see the results. If you don’t like the results then support a different person or agency.

Keep in mind though that the best help is person to person.

Think about this for a moment. If everybody in your local area took all the money they normally give to these faceless organizations how big of a pile of cash would you have at the end of the year?

Suppose, in the course of a years time you gave $500.00 to all these various organizations. What if 20,000 people in your local area each gave $500.00? Do the math. That’s $10,000,000.00 (ten million bucks).

If you all got together and invested that money through a local bank you could spend a million dollars a year on projects and never touch the principal. You could give on million dollars a year to local projects forever. Do you think this might make a difference in the community? I think so.
